MicrosoftのEdgeブラウザーが「Google アカウント」でログイン可能に、最新版「Microsoft Edge 150」が公開

脆弱性修正は300件以上、サイドバーのアプリ一覧は廃止へ、「macOS Monterey 12」対応は本バージョンが最後

「Microsoft Edge」v150.0.4078.48が展開中

 米Microsoftは7月2日(現地時間)、デスクトップ向け「Microsoft Edge」v150.0.4078.48を安定(Stable)チャネルでリリースした。「Edge 150」の目玉は「Microsoft アカウント」に加え、「Google アカウント」でもサインインできるようになったことだ。

 「Google アカウント」によるサインインはWindows/Mac環境でサポートされており、プロファイルメニューや「Edge」のサインイン画面から利用可能。IT管理者であれば、専用のポリシー(NonMicrosoftAccountSignInEnabled)で機能の可否を制御できる。

 ただし、この機能は現在、「Controlled Feature Rollout」(CFR)と呼ばれる仕組みで段階的に展開中だ。「Edge 150」へアップデートしてもすぐに利用できるとは限らない点には注意したい。

 そのほかの主な変更・アナウンスは、以下の通り。

  • 「ワークスペース」(Workspaces)が新アーキテクチャーへ移行:保存データが「OneDrive/SharePoint」から「Edge」の同期サービスへ移され、信頼性・パフォーマンスが向上する。一方で、共有(コラボレーション)機能は削除される。移行はv145から段階的に進められており、v150で完了
  • サードパーティーCookie設定の明確化:[設定]-[プライバシー、検索、サービス]-[Cookie]の説明文が改善され、選択肢がわかりやすくなった
  • 「WebView2」ランタイムのダウングレードに対応(企業向け):新しい「DowngradeVersion」ポリシーにより、重大な不具合が発生した場合にアプリ単位で1〜2世代前のランタイムへ一時的にロールバックできる
  • 「Edge」管理サービスにセキュリティ更新アラート(プレビュー):指定した深刻度以上のセキュリティ修正(ゼロデイ対応を含む)が含まれる更新がリリースされた際、管理者へ通知される
  • 新たなポリシーの追加:プロキシ利用時のTCPソケットプールの接続数上限にランダム性を導入する「AllowSocketPoolSizeRandomizationForProxies」など

 なお、 サイドバーのアプリ一覧は近い将来廃止 されるとのこと。すでに新しいアプリの追加はできなくなっており、ピン留め済みのアプリも今後の更新で削除される。

 また、 「macOS Monterey 12」のサポートは「Edge 150」が最後 となる。「Edge 151」からは「macOS Ventura 13」以降が必要だ。

 脆弱性の修正は、全328件。多くは「Chromium」に由来するもので、うち11件は深刻度が4段階中最高の「Critical」(緊急)と評価されている。

 残りの42件は「Chromium」のリリースノートには記載がなく、Microsoftが独自に採番した脆弱性となっている。リモートコード実行やなりすましにつながるものが含まれており、38件がMicrosoftの評価で深刻度「重要」(Important)とされている。

 デスクトップ版「Microsoft Edge」はWindows/Mac/Linuxに対応しており、現在公式サイトから無償でダウンロードできる。すでに「Microsoft Edge」を利用中の場合、待っていれば自動で更新されるが、手動での更新も可能。画面右上のメニュー([…]アイコン)から[ヘルプとフィードバック]-[Microsoft Edge について]画面(edge://settings/help)へアクセスするとよい。
